Official Thin Blue Line Logo Shirt
There are many reasons why someone might choose to wear a shirt. For me, personally, I like to wear a shirt because it makes me feel more comfortable and put-together. I also think that it can be a great way to show off your personal style. Not sure what you mean exactly by ‘side cut’, but as with everything else, there’s a time and place for everything. At the Thin Blue Line Logo Shirt in other words I will buy this beach, hanging out with friends, on holiday on a tropical island, chilling at home: you’re good to go with casual/revealing clothing. At work, meeting your partner’s parents for the first time, meeting anyone whom you want to impress, meeting anyone in a formal/professional setting: make more of an effort and dress up. I first came across this trend from a school friend of mine from Ghana, who had no connection to America aside from consuming Hollywood movies/tv shows. So perhaps it came from that exposure, but there is no direct correlation (to my knowledge). I later observed that this look was popular amongst skateboarders, as it allowed them to dress for cooler weather without adding too much extra weight (which is critical for most sports). While skateboarding is certainly very popular in America, it is not solely practiced there. Hence, another reason that it is not directly American. From a solely aesthetic point of view, a t-shirt with a shirt over it creates an informal look. As American society is comparatively more informal, a shirt on its own may be considered as too formal. Hence, the t-shirt (which is definitely popularised by American culture) helps to make the traditional European shirt more informal. From these examples, it is possible to conclude that wearing a t-shirt with a shirt over it is not solely an American trend. However, there is evidence to suggest that American culture may play a role in influencing people to dress this way.
